Bhuvaneshwari Correspondence College is an affiliated study center of Kuvempu University and Bangalore University. With the aim to promote distance education this university was set up in 1956. The ICFAI University was established in 2004 through an Act of State Legislature. The founder of ICFAI group of institutes is Mr.N.J.Yasaswy. The University has been approved by the University Grants Commission, under the UGC Act, 1956. The Distance Education Bureau has approved the programs of the ICFAI University and are accredited by NAAC. The University offers Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral programs in management, finance, science and technology, information technology, education, law and other areas. Nationally the university has 11 branches namely – Dehradun, Tripura, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Mizoram, Raipur, Jaipur, Himachal Pradesh and IFHE Hyderabad and a few others offering courses ranging from graduate to doctorate to certificate and diploma.

Sri Sai Correspondence College, Bangalore was established in the year 2008-09 at Mathikere. The college has collaborated with Kuvempu University to provide distance education courses and is recognized with UGC. Welingkar School of Distance Learning often known as WeSchool was founded in Matunga, Mumbai, in 1977. The institute is ranked among the top 50 business schools in the world by NIRF and it is accredited by the AICTE.
