Established in the year 1980 Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, popularly known as GITAM was set up by a group of academic intellectuals and the committee was under the able leadership of Dr. M. V. V. S. Murthi. GITAM University is approved by the joint committee of UGC-AICTTE-DEB and it is also endorsed by NAAC with 'A' grade.
GITAM University started offering 13 programs during the academic year 2009-10. Under the guidance of Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi, the university has flourished enormously. It has campuses in 3 major cities - Visakhapatnam, Hyderanad and Bengaluru along with 22 institutes.
Eligibility
- The candidate should have passed the Bachelor's degree of GITAM University or any University except BFA& BOL recognized by GITAM University as equivalent there to. A candidate with professional qualification such as BE/B.Tech./B.Pharm/ Medicine/Law/CA/ICWA/ACS/AMIE/AIETE, etc., is also eligible.
- The candidate should have appeared for the GAT examination conducted by GITAM University and obtained a rank.
- Admissions to the programme shall be made on the basis of the rank obtained in GAT subject to the fulfilment of the other eligibility criteria
